Description
Here’s a nice WW2 German Reichskriegsfahne (National War Flag). It is a great displayable size 1.0 x 1.7 meters. The Kriegsflagge is emblazoned with an Iron Cross in the canton area and, in the center area, a black swastika with white field which has black lines which run out on all of the quadrants. The hoist edge has a small, dual-ply, reinforcement panel to each corner and extra stitching on the fly end of business.
The hoist edge is trimmed in white, tunnel looped, cotton/rayon blend bunting for the suspension rope with black threaded hashed stitching on the header edge. The hoist is well marked with black ink stamps that include “Reichskriegsflg. 1.0 x 1.7”. To the left of this marking is stamped a red open-winged eagle and swastika over the letter “M”. This indicates this flag was made for the Navy. Some small moth nips can be found sporadically throughout this example, but it does not detract from it at all.
