Description

This artifact represents an extremely rare Heer regimental standard pole top, an exemplary and well-preserved example of its type. The piece displays sharply defined detail and retains surface characteristics consistent with original manufacture, including appropriate hand-finishing marks and period polishing.

Measuring approximately 28 cm by 12 cm, the finial was produced by Kraas at the Bilogiesserei foundry, a known manufacturer of such regalia. Pole tops of this nature served as prominent symbols of unit identity and were integral to regimental standards.

Due to wartime capture and postwar dispersal—many having been taken into Soviet custody—authentic examples are seldom encountered outside of institutional collections. As a result, surviving specimens of this caliber are considered highly significant within the field of Second World War militaria.

While reproductions exist, they lack the material integrity, craftsmanship, and historical context embodied in original pieces such as this, underscoring the importance of careful study and authentication.
