Description
Here’s a very clean Italian made NSDAP Nazi Flag that measures approximately 66″ x 39″. This is a much rarer flag than period examples made within Germany. It has a crisp stamp that reads “MUNICIPIO DI NAPOLI – ECONOMATO” (Town Hall of Naples – Treasurer). The flag would be attached to the pole with 4 ties, which they are all in tact. The construction is unique. A hole is cut in the center of the flag and the white circle enclosing the swastika is sewn in. There is a very small ink mark from the stamp process on the red field and a small water stain in the white circle, see pictures.
Below is a period picture taken when Hitler visited Italy in 1938. I believe the same type of flag was used. Notice how the flags were attached to the poles.
