Description
This serving fork was from the Adler Muller hoard, the huge lot Adolf Hitler silverware that Bill Shea procured and sold about 10 years ago. This hoard was originally acquired from the Eagles Nest by Muller. It comes with a certification from Bill Shea, copy of the Eagles Nest silverware order and a nice pamphlet telling the story of Adler Muller (including some copies of nice period photos of Muller’s journey). It’s 1 of 6 meat forks that were at the Eagles nest (documented on the original period Eagles Nest silverware order) and 1 of 1 in the Muller/Shea hoard.
This is an extremely rare formal meat serving fork which measures 8 1/2″ in length. Condition is excellent. The fork has the traditional Greek Key pattern meandering around the edges of the handle. The lower portion of the handle is adorned with a Political eagle with half-open wings. The eagle clutches an oak wreath with swastika. The initials “A” and “H” on the left and right side of the wreath. The backside of the handle is hallmarked with the Bruckmann markings, being a crescent, an Imperial crown, “800”, and a Prussian eagle.
Hitlers Large Formal Serving pieces are extremely hard to come by and are usually the missing pieces from a serious collection.
