Description
Here’s a Large Adolf Hitler Formal Aspic Server, an impressive piece, in absolutely superb condition. This piece has been perfectly preserved and is for the discriminating collector. It has extremely crisp detail throughout. The server measures 9 1/4 inches long and is a Large serving piece. These pieces were used for serving savory jelly which was made with meat stock, set in a mold and can contain pieces of meat, seafood, or eggs. Large serving pieces are the rarest of the Formal Pattern as fewer of these were made.
The Aspic server has the traditional Greek Key pattern meandering around the edges of the front handle. The lower portion of the handle is adorned with a Political eagle with half-open wings. The eagle clutches an oak wreath with swastika. The initials “A” and “H” on the left and right side of the wreath. The reverse of the server is hallmarked with the Bruckmann markings, being a Crescent, an Imperial Crown, “800”, and a Prussian eagle.
As far as condition goes, this is the nicest piece of Hitler flatware I’ve come across.
